Account Security

Account security controls are available in Profile Settings and Profile Delete Account.

Reset your password (email code flow)

Password reset is a two-step OTP flow:

1. Open Forgot Password and submit your email.
2. Check email for verification code.
3. Open Reset Password (or use the link from step 1).
4. Enter email, verification code, and new password.
5. Submit and sign in again.

If you start from Profile Security, the email field can be prefilled.

Password reset requirements

Reset submit requires all three fields:

1. Email
2. Verification code
3. New password

If any are missing or invalid, reset fails and you need to retry with a valid code.

Delete account (permanent action)

Account deletion is intentionally strict:

1. Open Profile Delete Account.
2. Type your exact account email for confirmation.
3. Click Permanently Delete Account.
4. Review the confirmation modal and choose one of:
   • Delete Permanently
   • Cancel Renewal Instead (keeps account, cancels renewal at period end)
   • Go Back

After confirmation:

1. Active subscription is canceled immediately when applicable.
2. Account record is permanently deleted.
3. Auth cookies/session are cleared.
4. You are signed out and returned to home.

Important deletion notes

1. Deletion is irreversible.
2. You lose account access immediately after success.
3. Any active paid subscription is canceled during deletion flow and will not renew.
4. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

If security actions fail

1. For reset failures, request a new code and retry.
2. For delete failures, verify email confirmation matches your account email exactly.
3. If billing cancellation errors occur during delete, retry and contact support with the exact error message.
