Chart Builder

Build trend and comparison charts with configurable axes, aggregations, and breakdowns.

Chart Builder helps you turn your current comparison scenario into a visual trend or category view so you can spot patterns faster than scanning rows only.

Chart data is built from your current applied scenario (countries, providers, methods, amount, date range). Update filters and click Apply first when changing the base scenario.

Chart controls at a glance

Use these controls together:

  1. X Axis: what to group by (time, provider, corridor, etc.).
  2. Y Axis: metric(s) to plot (up to 2 at once).
  3. Time Aggregation: day/week/month/year when X Axis is time.
  4. Y Aggregation: avg/sum/count/min/max.
  5. Breakdown: average-only or segmented views (provider/corridor/method/amount) when X Axis is time.

  1. Start from a valid applied scenario in Compare Providers.
  2. Set X Axis based on your question: time for trends, provider for side-by-side provider comparison, or another category for distribution.
  3. Select one or two Y Axis metrics.
  4. If X Axis is time, choose Time Aggregation and Breakdown.
  5. Refine until the chart answers one clear question.
  6. Save the full setup via Saved Filters if you reuse it.

Breakdown combinations (how series are generated)

Breakdown is where Chart Builder becomes most powerful.

  1. Breakdown works only when X Axis is time.
  2. You can select one breakdown mode, or multiple modes together.
  3. The chart creates one separate series for each unique combination found in the data.
  4. If avg is selected together with breakdown modes, the chart includes one Average series plus all combination series.

Example behavior:

  1. perProvider only: one series per provider.
  2. perProvider + perCorridor: one series per provider-corridor combination.
  3. perDepositMethod + perAmount: one series per deposit-method-and-amount combination.

Series label behavior:

  1. Combination labels are ordered consistently: Provider -> Corridor -> Deposit Method -> Payout Method -> Amount.
  2. Corridor labels include country and currency when available.
  3. Amount labels include source currency when available.
  4. For mid_market_rate, labels are corridor-focused to keep MMR series readable.

Important behavior and dependencies

  1. X Axis time uses a line chart. Non-time X axes render as bar charts.
  2. Breakdown options are available only when X Axis is time.
  3. Switching from time to a non-time X Axis resets breakdown to average mode.
  4. You can select at most 2 Y-axis metrics.
  5. Currency mode affects amount-based Y metrics (receive/send USD vs local variants).
  6. Tier restrictions apply to X axes, Y metrics, and aggregation options.
See Filters for field dependency behavior (especially date range and amount option changes).

Series list and readability

When a chart generates many series:

  1. The chart enables the top 10 series by default for readability.
  2. You can manually enable/disable any series in the series list below the chart.
  3. Breakdown combinations can grow series count quickly.
  4. If too many series are shown, narrow filters or reduce breakdown dimensions for cleaner interpretation.

AI explain behavior

The Explain with AI action is tied to the currently displayed chart view.

  1. AI explain is available on Standard/Advanced/Enterprise tiers when chart data is ready.
  2. AI explain supports up to 12 displayed series.
  3. If the chart exceeds that limit, narrow filters or reduce breakdowns first.

Why your chart can look empty

Common reasons:

  1. The applied filter scenario has no data for that period/corridor.
  2. Selected chart options are too narrow for the current filter context.
  3. Tier restrictions removed one or more requested chart options.
