AI Insights
AI Insights helps you interpret the chart you already built. It explains what the data is showing and lets you ask focused follow-up questions in the same panel.
Generate your first AI explanation
- Build your chart in Chart Builder.
- Confirm the chart is loaded (not in loading state).
- Click Explain with AI in the chart header.
- Review the generated explanation in the AI panel below the chart.
Ask follow-up questions
After the first explanation is generated:
- Type your question in Ask a follow-up question....
- Click Send.
- Continue the conversation to drill into trends, outliers, or specific series behavior.
Good follow-up examples:
- Which provider changed most in this period?
- Is the spread narrowing or widening over time?
- Which corridor contributed most to the average shift?
Refresh or restart context
Use Refresh when you want a newly generated explanation for the same chart context.
When you change filters or chart controls, the AI conversation is reset automatically so older answers do not mix with a new scenario.
If you intentionally changed the scenario, run Explain with AI again to create a fresh baseline.
Credits behavior
AI actions are billable on credit-limited tiers:
- Initial Explain with AI request consumes 1 credit.
- Each follow-up Send message consumes 1 credit.
- If an AI request fails, the system attempts to avoid double charging through existing credit protections.
Dependencies and limits
AI Insights depends on chart state and has hard guards:
- Chart data must exist.
- The chart scenario must be valid and loaded.
- AI is unavailable when the chart generates more than 12 series.
If AI fails to respond
You may see an error in the AI panel when the service is unavailable or when chart context is not valid.
Try this in order:
- Confirm chart data is visible first.
- Reduce chart complexity if many series are present.
- Click Refresh.
- If errors continue, contact support and include the exact message shown in the panel.
